In 1915, Broward County was created in southern Florida. It was created thanks to portions of land from Dade County and Palm Beach County and was named after the man who was the Governor of Florida, Napoleon Bonaparte Broward. In the 1960’s, this area was considered to be the leader and the highest seller of agricultural products, such as oranges and other fruits, in the entire state.
Even though it contributes a great deal of agriculture, Broward County is now the most well-known for being at the center of the 2000 U.S. Presidential Election. During this time a recount for the election was demanded and it brought the county to the center of the nations attention, and not necessarily in a very good way. Now those who visit the county are often looking to see things such as the Flamingo Gardens, a wildlife sanctuary, or the International Swimming Hall of Fame, all of which are located in the county, as is popular beach and spring vacation spot, Fort Lauderdale. People who are searching for Broward County public records will likely be able to find the records that they are looking for at the County Records offices between normal business hours.
