Queens County s located on the western part of Long Island and is home to three of the most popular and well-known airports that reside in the state: LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy, making this county one that yields a high amount of traffic from people coming in, and leaving, the country. The area was created in 1683 as one of the 12 original counties of New York and was, it has been rumored, named after a Portuguese princess who later became Queen consort - Catherine of Braganza, who married King Charles II of England.
Unlike other areas surrounding it, this area played a very minor role in the American Revolution and was largely occupied by the British for most of the war. Now, thanks to the diversity of different nationalities that have made Queens County their home, the area is considered to be one of the most diverse food cities in the world, and “foodies†from around the globe travel thousands of miles to try food in the area, especially food that is along Roosevelt Avenue. Those looking for Queens County public records can find them at the county recorder’s office. In some instances, though, it may make better sense to begin your search online.
