When you’re talking about states that are near the East Coast you’re usually talking about states that are very old. When it comes to Tennessee, this is definitely a state that has some history to it. Davidson County, in fact, is the oldest county that was created in the middle of this old state, and was named after William Lee Davidson in 1783. Davidson was an officer from neighboring state, North Carolina, who passed away in the Revolutionary war. But it turns out that the area had a much longer history than the one that was written down in the history books originally.
The first settlers in the area were Native Americans, who liked the area due to the game that they could find there. Many archeologists have now discovered that the first white people who came to the area were fur traders who came to track, and trade, game with the Native Americans. Those who are looking for Davidson County public records may have a hard time finding records for Native Americans, but will be able to find records for those European settlers at the Davidson County Register of Deeds on501 Broadway, directly in the main center of the area, Nashville.
