Gaining quick access to court records is often a very important task. Under Alaskan state statute 40.21.150 Alaska court records are considered to be state records which are deemed to be any record of an office, board, or any agency of the state government. It is also stated under Alaskan statute that unless there are specifically stated exceptions otherwise, these court records of Alaska and those of all public agencies and offices are to be made available for inspection by the public.
Every request for public records must be fulfilled with reasonable effort during an agency's office hours. Public officers of such offices may require the payment of a pre-determined fee, however, before a certified copy of any Alaska court records can be released to the requesting party. Generally speaking, every citizen is permitted access to examine any court records of Alaska except those which contain information where the possession of such information can reasonably be expected to put the life of another person in danger or harm's way or endanger the public heath.
