Florida Court Records

The Committee on Privacy and Court Records was created by the Chief Justice of Florida in an effort to make recommendations in the electronic release and management of the Florida court records. The committee was brought into existence on November 25, 2003, by Administrative Order AOSC03-49?(substituted byAOSC04-4).

In regards to electronic access to the court records of Florida, the committee generally agreed that there are a substantial number of barriers which weaken the security of such a transaction. However, they also agreed that remote electronic access to all appropriate Florida court records must be a one of the primary goals if not a priority of the judicial branch of Florida.

The committee has made several recommendations focused on overcoming these barriers and creating operating procedures which safely enable citizens to access the appropriate court records of Florida. The primary purpose of the committee was to aid in developing these security procedures for electronic access to official documents.
