There was some difficulty in accessing the official website of the State of Arkansas and other sites related to the state. However it should be noted that there are two sites where you can get criminal records for the state.
Still in beta format, this is a new service that will allow individuals and employers to perform background checks by visiting the Criminal Background Check website. The site lists two ways to perform a background check. One is to do a manual search from the available database. The manual process requires you to download, complete and then sign a State Police form ASP-122, which must also be notarized. The completed and notarized form, together with a self-addressed and stamped envelope, and a check for the fee should be mailed to the Arkansas State Police, Identification Bureau, 1 State Police Drive Plaza, Little Rock, AR 72209. Total processing time for the request takes 7 to 10 working days and the response will be mailed to the person or business that made the request. The ASP-122 form can be downloaded from this site (as soon as their server link is fixed). The fee for a manual background check is $20. You will not be able to get information on misdemeanor arrests pending court decisions, dismissed cases or in cases where the subject has been found not guilty, and traffic violations that are not included in the criminal record.
The other type of criminal background check can be accomplished by performing an electronic search. This can be done by completing and submitting the request electronically, and payment of the background search fee of $22. The types of information you can get from electronic search include any pending felony arrests, any misdemeanor or felony convictions within Arkansas, and if the person is a registered or required to register as a sex offender. The same restrictions on the amount of information that will be available to you based on a manual search are applicable to electronic criminal background search.
The State of Arkansas also has an online portal for performing criminal background checks. A searcher is required to register with the website and login (to avail of discounts) before they can perform a background search. After the required form has been filled in and the associated fee paid, they will be able to do a background search, subject to the conditions set by the state of Arizona law and the Arizona State Police. For those without an account, the fee for each search is $25.
Employers are required to register with the Arizona police department and make a request to get approval to sign up with the online criminal records database maintained by the Information Network of Arkansas or the INA. The fee for each search is $22.
Note: The pieces of information included here were taken from web cache information as all the different links available during the search for information are dead links.
