You can request criminal records from other people without their permission, providing they have been convicted of a felony. They have a specific website for this (felonsearch.ga.gov) and you can use it to search for someone's history as long as you have a credit card for the $15 search fee. You can get other criminal history records (arrests, non-felony convictions) only with the individual's permission. Businesses who wish to do background checks can also do so once they are approved by the bureau.
