Criminal Background
Louisiana background check resources for criminal histories are a little limited. Getting a criminal check from the Bureau of Criminal Identification is restricted to certain types of employers doing checks before hiring or other such organizations. Forms can be printed out from their website and submitted by mail along with the $26 fee. Other related court documents are available to the public through the individual parish filing offices. Each search is $30 and only includes the one parish.
Other Record Sources
Standard vital records (births and deaths) are restricted to family members for up to 75 years, but can be requested by relatives from the Vital Records office for the state. If you are looking for marriage or divorce documents, you have to make a request at the Clerk of Court for that parish. They are available to the public for a fee but the details will vary from parish to parish.
