If you would like to retrieve Louisiana background checks and criminal records, follow these outlined steps:

Step 1: Access and save the Louisiana Background Check Request Form.

Step 2: Fill out the form and check the reason for application. For individuals, you would check “right to review.”

Step 3: Mail the completed form with a $26 certified check or money order to the Bureau of Criminal Information and Identification.

Louisiana Arrest Records

Louisiana arrest records can be accessed through the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. The Department provides interested members of the public access to Louisiana arrest records by phone and through the online LAVNS system.

To use the online system to access Louisiana arrest records, you will need to:

Step 1: Log on to utilize the Louisiana Inmate Locator.

Step 2: To search online, click on the link at the bottom of the page to access the VINELink system. From there, follow the prompts to access the record you need.

Step 3: Louisiana arrest records can also be accessed by calling (225) 383-4580. To use the system, you will need either the DOC number or the name and birth date of the offender you want to search.
