The Maine State Police, Bureau of Identification, maintains an online database of Maine criminal records. The fee for each criminal record requested is $31, payable by credit card prior to the search. The online database allows you to input a search and will then email you the results usually in two hours, but it may take up to 12 hours. The State Bureau of Identification does not indicate that they perform manual searches, and thus, it’s best to call if you can’t get internet access.

Select “Pay by credit card” to enter your payment information and begin your search. If you don’t receive results within 12 hours, first make sure the results didn’t go into your spam folder and then call the Bureau of Identification to inquire.

If you don’t have online access, call or visit the State Bureau of Identification and inquire how to request a manual search.

If you would like view Maine arrest records, it depends upon how long an offender has been sentenced. Records on offenders that are placed in arrest prior to being convicted or who are serving a term of less than nine months will need to be accessed by contacting the county arrest where they are located directly. Records on offenders who have been sentenced for longer than nine months can be requested by email.
To request Maine arrest records on offenders who have been sentenced to more than nine months, you must:
Step 1: Write an email to Corrections.Webdesk@maine.gov with your request.
Step 2: In the email, you will need to provide as much information about the inmate as possible, including full name, birth date, and DOC number when available. The more information you can provide, the more accurate results will be.
Step 3: Also include your full name, address, and reason for the request.
