In Minnesota criminal records are handled by the Criminal Justice Information System and CriMNet, a state run program that works with all state and local agencies to create a comprehensive resource for criminal justice professionals in the law enforcement community, the courts and the corrections system. As part of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), it is a multi database program in an effort to bring together the most comprehensive collection of criminal records in Minnesota.
The CriMNet system is a joint effort of all branches of the government of Minnesota and is governed under the authority of Minnesota Statute 299C.65 by the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information Policy Group and Task Force.
Minnesota criminal records searches include all arrests and convictions, but name-only searches can not always be 100% accurate without the inclusion of fingerprint verification. Please bear this in mind when looking for criminal records in Minnesota.
