Criminal records are essential in any part of a community. They detail those who have committed crimes, felonies and other socially unacceptable acts that have landed them in court or jail. Whether you are opening a new business and need data on your employees, or you're just a concerned resident with a suspicious neighbor, searching for criminal records may prove to be very crucial. Although it is unfair to base a person's identity on their past actions, not every individual with a criminal history changes his life. By knowing, you may be able to safeguard everything around you.
In Nebraska, criminal records are available for anybody who wishes to acquire them. Criminal records are often free, with the exception of certain cases that require a fee for access. On the other hand, there are quite a handful ways you can get hold of criminal records or search for one in particular. You do not even have to step outside your home to do a criminal background check. If you have a computer with access to the Internet, you can simply do it at home.
You can visit the Nebraska Criminal Records website and do a quick search on the person of interest. You will notice that there are two portions on the home page. The top portion details what criminal records are and how it will benefit you, while the lower portion is a list of links that you can use as part of your search. The links are free public records on different cities in Nebraska that have outstanding warrants or people that are registered sex offenders. While these may not be necessarily what you are looking for, it can be helpful to find out if the person of interest is part of the list. If you want a more thorough search, you need to become a member of Criminal Records to partake in all the benefits.
One of the quickest ways you can do a criminal background check is by going to the website of the Nebraska City Police and request information. However, there is a small fee of $10 for every criminal record you request from them. Like all searches, you will need to give some information about the person you are doing a background check on. Enter the first and last name of the person as well as the middle initial. You will also need to provide the gender and date of birth. Once you are done with that, you will then have to enter your own personal information.
It is indicated on the Nebraska Police web page that the only criminal records they have online are those that after 1980. Arrests that were made or criminal records prior to 1980 will have to be hand-searched by their records personnel.
