The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) maintains the database of state criminal records. A name-based check or a fingerprint search can be requested by indicating the preferred method on the request form. A name-based search costs $15, while a fingerprint search costs $19, payable by credit card, certified check or money order. The records request can be mailed in or requested in person.

In order to retrieve Oklahoma background checks and criminal records, take the following steps:

Visit the Oklahoma State website to download the Oklahoma Background Check Request Form.
Step 2:
Fill out the form, making sure to choose either the “Name Based” or “State Fingerprint Based” search. For fingerprint searches, have your fingerprints taken at your local law enforcement agency and enclose them with the request form.
Step 3:
Mail the completed form with a $15 fee (certified check, money order or credit card) for a name search or $19 for a fingerprint search to OSBI or drop off the request in person.
