To begin, add a public record or view a list of counties, locations and resources for Utah public records.
The State Archives and Records Service, a division of the Department of Administrative Services manages public records in Utah created at both the state and local level, including such historical records as death certificates, land records, mining claims and legislative bills. In order to make access easier to these Utah public records, a catalog, name index and series inventory list have been made available as well as other subject based research guides. Many of the files have even been scanned into a digital collection.
The Research Center is a public research facility that is maintained by the Utah State Archives and the Utah State History. The facility is located in historic Denver & Rio Grande Depot in Salt Lake City and makes public records in Utah easier to find in a centralized location that is open Monday though Thursday from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. The Research Center is closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
